Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, sustained injuries from a pager explosion in Beirut on Tuesday, according to Iranian state media outlet IRNA.

The report, quoting Amani’s wife, stated that the ambassador suffered minor injuries and is being monitored in the hospital.

Additionally, two staff members from the Iranian embassy were also hurt, as reported by Iran's semi-official Fars news agency.

The blasts affected multiple regions in Lebanon, with a significant impact on the southern suburbs of Beirut, according to Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces.

Reported explosions occurred in several locations, including:

- Dahiyeh, the southern suburb of Beirut

- The towns of Ali Al-Nahri and Riyaq in the central Beqaa Valley

- Sidon and Tyre in southern Lebanon.

Videos circulating online capture the moments before and during the pager explosions in Lebanon.

One clip shows a man shopping at a fruit and vegetable market when an object on his body detonates. The man falls to the ground, crying out in agony, as bystanders flee in panic.

Another video, taken from security cameras, depicts a man about to pay for items in a store when an explosive device on his person detonates, releasing a cloud of smoke.

A separate video shows the aftermath of an explosion in a bedroom. The footage reveals two holes blown through a drawer, a shattered mirror, and debris scattered across the room.

On Tuesday, hundreds of Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon were injured when their handheld pagers, used for communication, exploded, as reported by Lebanese state media.

The explosions occurred in various suburbs of Beirut, with Lebanon's National News Agency providing coverage. Al-Manar TV, a network affiliated with Hezbollah, reported that the injured were being rushed to hospitals.

The exact cause of the explosions remains unclear.

A Hezbollah official described the incident to Reuters as the "most significant security breach" the group has faced in nearly a year of conflict with Israel. Iran's semi-official Mehr News Agency also confirmed that Mojtaba Amani, the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, was injured in the explosions.

It remains uncertain whether Amani's injuries are severe. Hezbollah receives substantial support from Iran, both materially and financially.
