The singer appeared in court in Sag Harbor, New York, where he accepted a plea deal for a reduced charge.

On Friday, Justin Timberlake pleaded guilty in connection with his DWI case. Timberlake appeared in the Sag Harbor Village Justice Courthouse on Long Island, New York, accompanied by his attorney, Edward Burke Jr.
Under a plea deal with the court, Timberlake admitted to a noncriminal traffic violation for driving while impaired. However, Judge Carl Irace, who had previously suspended Timberlake’s license during a hearing last month, expressed dissatisfaction with the agreement. He inquired if Timberlake would be open to volunteering at a nonprofit organization of his choice.
Timberlake agreed to this proposal, committing to complete between 25 and 40 hours of community service. He also consented to pay a fine as part of the resolution.
The court proceedings are related to Timberlake’s arrest on June 18 in the upscale Hamptons area of Long Island, where he was suspected of driving under the influence. The case has attracted considerable attention, given Timberlake's high-profile status as a Grammy-winning artist.
On the night of his arrest, Justin Timberlake had been out with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. After the evening, he drove away in a gray BMW registered in Florida. According to a Sag Harbor Village police report, Timberlake was pulled over for running a stop sign and subsequently arrested after failing a field sobriety test.
Timberlake stated that he had consumed just "one martini" before driving and was merely following his friends home. However, the arresting officer’s report painted a different picture. The officer noted that Timberlake’s eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy, and there was a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. Additionally, the report mentioned Timberlake’s difficulties in maintaining attention, slowed speech, and unsteady gait. These observations contributed to the decision to arrest him on suspicion of driving under the influence.
